It's been a while...
I'm feeling a little hopeful around my migraines these days. There have been a few shifts which have opened a little room for hope.
In February, I had a couple of headaches. Not migraines, but headaches which is a great improvement for me. Lately, any headache I've had has progressed into a migraine, so the fact that I was just able to take some Advil and the headache was manageable, is a great improvement.
I've also been EFT tapping around my headaches and the pain and discomfort they cause me and it seems to be working. Tapping reduces cortisol levels and takes you out of your stress response- fight, flight or freeze. As I've said in a previous post, it feels like I expect to get migraines now, so my body tries to make me correct and I get migraines. By tapping, I'm turning off that body response and fixing the thought pattern. I will continue to tap daily.
On a smaller scale, I've stopped eating oats and stopped drinking oat milk. For a while, I was getting migraines every Friday which I think may have been from the buildup of oats (or my body's response to oats). So, no more oat milk in my shakes, and no more Oat Steamers at Starbucks.
The Friday migraine pattern has also led me to believe that maybe it's because of the time I spend in front of my computer. So, I purchased some crystals that are supposed to absorb/block electromagnetic radiation. I now have black tourmaline, shungite and malachite sitting in front of my computer monitor, and I have black tourmaline and obsidian beside my bed. And I have some Blue light blocking glasses on their way.
When I saw my osteopath a few weeks ago, she said that things had shifted. The energy in my body was flowing much better and there was a change in the flow in my cranium as well. So, I feel hopeful that things are finally on the move out of my body and it feels like all the healing of the past year is finally coming to fruition.
I am still getting migraines, but the trigger free diet has made it easier to identify what might be causing them, and for that, I am grateful. I generally feel healthier being gluten, dairy and sugar free and will continue to be so to the best of my ability (I've been cheating a lot the past few weeks, but plan on getting back on the wagon soon).
